Short Synopsis

ArtTribesNetwork.com is a social network to increase engagement between socially active artists from all disciplines.

Description/Treatment

ArtTribesNetwork.com is the greener, cleaner, commercial-free alternative to social networks. It provides a commercial-free, cutting edge Web 2.0 environment and tools to maximize the impact of the programs and work that members of our network are producing or developing.

ArtTribes is a hub to make local change happen. As of November 2010 ArtTribesNetwork.com has "social sign-in" so our members can log in using their google or yahoo accounts. Facebook integration will be available before the end of 2010.

In our first year, we brought together 3 key players -- the nonprofit sector, the funding sector and engaged artists. Our members organized, gather resources, and acted. At Art Tribes Network, relevant issues are translated into tangible actions that generate further coverage and viral discussion of important issues, not limited to the web (our actions can generate TV and radio coverage, for instance). Art Tribes actions can be quantified and our effect easily measured.

Recently, ArtTribes has focused on our most active user, the artist. Membership input helps us to reconfigure as we go to serve the needs of our most active users.  There are three phases to our project:

PHASE 1. (Current phase) Building an active network.  ArtTribesNetwork.com offers free, Web 2.0 tools to socialize, organize and promote.

PHASE 2. (2011) An engine to engage regional philanthropists to find local artists, curators, and organizations to create aritistic works, exhibitions, and educational materials  that serve a social cause related to the funder's mission.

PHASE 3. (2012) An annual festival - As with our previous project thefloridaroom.org, the festival will showcase work funded through the network as well as compatible award-winning art, films and music during a yearly event in Dade County, and online.

We have continued support from The Green Family Foundation and from our members.
