The Anderson Monarchs is about an all-girls soccer team competing, living, and thriving in an at-risk urban neighborhood in Philadelphia.  Nominated in 2008 by Sports Illustrated as “Sports Team” of the year, they were also hailed as “the future of American Soccer” in the London newspaper, The Guardian.

A FIERCE GREEN FIRE
Content Project
A Fierce Green Fire is the first big-picture synthesis of environmentalism - grassroots and global activism spanning fifty years worldwide. It tells the story of the environmental movement from conservation to climate change. We focus on activism -- people fighting to save their homes, their lives, the future. Our concerns are connecting causes, how the issues grew, exploring ideas and the evolution of a vision. The common theme is a struggle to save nature against the destructive impact of humanity – from halting dams in the Grand Canyon to battling 20,000 tons of toxic waste at Love Canal; from Greenpeace saving the whales to Chico Mendes and the rubbertappers saving the Amazon; from climate change to the promise of transforming our civilization. Our thesis is that this is the time when mankind must learn to live with nature, move beyond the exploitation at the heart of industrial society and find a way based on biology, balancing human needs with the natural world that sustains us, creating a living planet. As Stewart Brand says in the film, “We’re not passengers on Spaceship Earth. We are Spaceship Earth. We are Gaia.”

Using a combination of compelling personal stories, expert testimony and often blackly comic archive material, the film will delve behind the spin to discover the true costs of nuclear power in the UK, US, Europe and beyond, as well as showing how there IS another way to power all our futures.

Rise of the Phoenix is a feature length documentary that examines how the unprecedented transformation of China's economy is changing the roles, rights and status of modern day Chinese women as witnessed by four or five women from very different social and economic backgrounds. These intimate and sometimes heart-breaking stories reflect a remarkable sexual revolution redefining one-fifth of the world's population despite a gender-biased tradition.

With film and virtual reality, Always in Season takes an integrated transmedia approach to telling the story of the lingering impact of almost a century of lynching African Americans until the mid-1960s.  Our documentary feature highlights the emotional journeys of relatives of the victims, perpetrators and spectators who are turning harm to hope with grassroots efforts towards reconciliation and restorative justice, and our virtual world locale, Always in Season Island, extends the film’s message by giving audiences an experiential look at the social climate that made this form of racial terrorism possible.
BUSK!

BUSK! is a character-driven documentary about how an emerging cultural center like Charlotte, NC can – (and should!) – encourage street art and performance. With an inquisitive and playful spirit, the film follows the lives of four local street performers to promote an understanding and appreciation for art that reaches beyond the walls of a gallery, theater, or concert hall.

Peace Corps Voices
Content Project
In recognition of the 50th anniversary of the Peace Corps, this hour-long radio documentary will portray experiences of volunteers from every decade, in every region, using audio they recorded while serving. The archive recordings from the field will be complemented by contemporary interviews with the returned Peace Corps volunteers and with historians who've written about the Peace Corps.
