Cooking Lessons-A Palestinian American Story (working title) turns an intimate lens on what it means to be Palestinian in America through the story of the Hakim family, who were among the first Palestinian refugees granted immigrant visas to America in the 1950s. A feature-length personal documentary narrated by first born son and photographer Najib Joe Hakim and directed by daughter-in-law Laurie Coyle.

“Take Us Home” is a independent public television documentary that tells the story of the last remaining Ethiopian Jews—called Falash Mura—who are attempting to immigrate to Israel. The film documents this historic rescue and, through the eyes of individuals and families, explores the challenges and struggles, triumphs and heart-wrenching setbacks Ethiopian Jews must endure in both countries—often over many years.

Listen Up! Northwest is a weekly collaborative community radio program focused on environmental, social and economic issues, creative culture and, above all, civic engagement in the Northwest. Currently aired on ten stations, it is the only regional community radio project of its kind.
